Three 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related financial reporting role. Must have three 3 years of experience working in granular, journal entrybased accounting, including experience preparing andor reviewing journal entries to record business transactions; completing andor supervising monthly close procedures, preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles GAAP; identifying and preparing required disclosures for standalone financial statements and preparing entity information that flows into disclosures for a public company financial statements; deriving ad hoc reporting required by endusers varying from traditional financial reporting, but based on gathered financial data; working with a variety of General Ledger and Financial Reporting platforms, including experience importing information from outside systems, as well as preparing output to enduser systems; using MS Office and Adobe suites, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote and Acrobat with extensive use of Excel; using GAAP and applying GAAP research provided during the course of collaborative research efforts related to financial reporting for investments, including but not limited to areas related to revenue recognition, loan and interest accounting, as well as other relevant areas of accounting; deriving requirements in reporting and accounting expectations in deal documents, such as entity agreements, loan documents, and leases, to support financial reporting requirements including, but not limited to, investors, lenders, and regulators; coordinating effective crossdepartmental communications to tax, financial reporting, operations, treasury and deal team members that demonstrate collaboration and achieve the desired outcome; identifying and resolving reporting variances and writing effective explanations that describe the root cause of variances; analyzing financial records, preparing or reviewing journal entries or financial transactions, or preparing or reviewing financial statements to ensure they are free from material misstatement; working in a variety of system applications to record or review financial transactions andor financial statements; distilling and communicating accounting findings and issues to internal and external parties, orally and in writing; working with minimal supervision to independently organize workload and meet competing and timesensitive financialaccounting internal and external deadlines; complying with internal controls to support the accounting environment; and training analysts and recent hires on recurring accounting procedures, GAAP adjustments, accounting treatment on hospitality portfolios, accountingsystem treatment of fixed assets, and financial statement reviews.
