Qualified applicants will have a PhD in Chemical Engineering and 2 years of research experience in the biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical or chemical industry. Experience must include biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including validation and comparability studies applicable to industrial processes; Scientific writing and proven record of documentation to ensure safe and reliable operation of laboratory equipment SOPs, reporting of scientific findings scientific publications, gather funding and resources proposal for funding and collaborations, and technical assessments of processes and technology transfers technical reports;br biophysicochemical analyses of products and raw materials, including colorimetric, chromatographic, spectroscopic and electrophoretic methods, activity and kinetic assays; preparing reference standards and method development for analytical methods focusing on reproducibility of measurements, reliability of information acquired, expected measurement variance, signal to noise ratio, and matrix interferences; FTIR characterization of organic substrates; design of experiments traditional and factorial designs, hypothesis testing, multivariate analysis principal component analysis as a dimensionality reduction technique to evaluate data affected by multiple variables, and MonteCarlo simulations; protein chemistry and stability pathways; interpreting and reconciling analytical data into a physicalchemicalmechanistic system of degradation of protein, lipids, and carbohydrates; study of gene cloning and expression of wild type enzymes and enzymes with functional domains removed; characterization of the functionality of enzymatic functional domains; designing, building, controlling, troubleshooting and maintaining complex reaction systems reactors with high standards of safety and compliance; monitoring and controlling reaction conditions through robust feedback process controls control software experience using LabView; designing smallscale protein purification strategies based on solvent extraction, chromatography and filtration; modeling kinetics of cell growth using computer software MatLab, Rstudio; use of thermodynamic principles and equations of state to analyze adiabatic processes related to compressed air supply expansions and relation between state variables pressure and temperature; computational Fluid Dynamics; and GMP processes. Experience may be gained during pursuit of PhD. Role allows the employee to work from home 25 of the time. Travel less than 10 international and domestic.
