Requires 7 years of progressive postbachelors experience. Must include some experience in each of the following skills risk designation of earth materials and postprocessed residues using laboratory and fieldscale geochemical characterization programs, including static methods designed to determine initial metal and mineral component variability and kinetic methods designed to determine material behavior over time under variable environmental conditions; solidphase arsenic speciation by synchrotronbased microanalyses; submerged sediment and porewater characterization by highresolution coring and insitu equilibrium dialysis arrays and lead and cesium isotope radiochronology; predicting water quality impacts and timing through advective and diffusive contaminant transport, thermodynamic and geoenvironmental modeling using Geochemists Workbench, pHredoxequilibrium in C language PHREEQC, Goldsim, ioGAS software platforms and curve fitting techniques to determine aqueousgas geochemical speciation, activity, mineral stability, solubility, reactions, controls and forecasting; life of mine mitigation protocols, including materials handling source controls and design criteria for both active and passive water treatment systems; closure cost estimation using the standardized reclamation cost estimator SRCE; and mine closure planning adhering to the International Council on Mining and Metals Management ICMM, Mine Environmental Neutral Drainage and International Network for Acid Prevention methodologies including the Integrated Mine Closure Good Practice Guide, Financial Concepts Guide, Key Performance Indicators for Closure, Prediction Manual for Drainage Chemistry from Sulphidic Geologic Materials, The Global Acid Rock Drainage Guide and The Global Cover System Design.
