Experience must include writing and editing project specifications; working in a team environment; and working with computer analysis software ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE.br br H.12 PLEASE NOTE these requirements bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation of Civil Engineer in the context of the engineering and design services industry, and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner. Because this position requires an advancedlevel of engineering expertise, the employer has determined that a Masters Degree is required. Civil and Structural Engineering graduate programs prepare students to plan and develop complex structural engineering design projects, including those relevant to this position. In addition to learning engineering fundamentals, students are required to participate in rigorous research projects and spend hours completing lab work. Through these programs, they learn how to creatively solve problems, design and implement experiments, and improve processes. In addition, the advancedlevel coursework allows them to examine and understand the theoretical underpinnings of the field. Because of the advanced engineering responsibilities of this position, this type of educational background is necessary. In addition, because this Project Consultant is required to serve as Project Manager, including completing and reviewing designs, managing project budgets, and managing direct client contact, the employer has determined that significant handson experience is required. Due to the level or responsibility that this position entails, the employer has determined that the combination of a MS degree and at least 3 years of experience is necessary for the position. Finally, because this Project Consultant may serve as the Engineer of records, a PE license is required. The employer would not hire someone for this position who did not meet these minimum requirements.
