As stated in H.11, the primary duties of the job relate to managing the Vance Centers international diversity programs, including the Women in the Profession Program, the Total Law Prep Program focused on Afrodescendant and Indigenous diversity in the Latin American legal profession, the African gender diversity initiative, and others; and developing and managing relationship with participating law firms and general counsels in Latin America and the United States focused on diversity. This requires the incumbent to act as the translator and the lead communicator to maintain adequate communications with our Latin American counterparts that solely speak Spanish. A majority of the incumbents duties require fluency in Spanish and the job offered could not be performed in a minimally competent and acceptable manner by a candidate who was not fluent in Spanish. Ms. Karina Benzaquen Vdovin, who is the beneficiary of this PERM application, is fluent in Spanish, which is required in order to perform the duties of the position of International Diversity Program Manager.
