Experience must include five years of utilizing Vertex Indirect Tax Returns, and tax research databases, including CCH, LexisNexis, and BNA, to perform research on state tax matters; mediating between clients and state revenue departments to resolve tax disputes, including state assessments and notices; researching and analyzing tax issues encountered on engagements, including state and local tax credits, source data validation, and changes in law requiring reporting modifications; analyzing client data files, reconciling calculations with client data, identifying variances and data issues, and providing clients with recommendations to mitigate data issues; assisting with multiple work streams and associated deliverableswork products through all phases of the client engagement lifecycle, including data validation, data analysis, software implementation, return processing, return review, notices management and engagement management; and assisting with managing, developing, training, and mentoring staff on tax projects, and assessing performance for engagement and yearend reviews. Experience must include one year of advising clients on state and local indirect tax issues, including sales use overpayments, prepayment requirements, reporting impact for nexus reviews, and voluntary disclosure return preparation; assisting with engagement profitability, client billing, and engagement team resources, drafting and presenting new proposals to new and existing clients, and assisting with client onboarding; coordinating systems and process improvements, including notice management, client communication, data visualization, risk mitigation and efficiency tools; and assisting with hiring and management of staffseniors, and assisting with employee retention efforts.
