Specific Skills

Candidates must hold a valid degree in Medicine, must have completed three years of medical residency in pediatrics, and must have completed or be graduating from a threeyear neonatology fellowship. Candidates must also possess an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Illinois. Candidates must also be board certified in pediatrics and be board eligible or board certified in Neonatalperinatal medicine. Foreign trained medical doctors must pass the Federal Licensing Examination FLEX or its equivalent, the United States Medical Licensing Examination USMLE, and demonstrate competence in oral and written English by successfully completing the English Language Proficiency Exam given by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates ECFMG.
