The Senior Engineer Automation will be based out of SELESs Houston, Texas field office located at 5850 Rogerdale Road, Suite 150, Houston, Texas 77072. However, because SELES has numerous customers nationwide, some travel is required, as the incumbent will occasionally and on a shortterm basis be deployed to various customer sites. Candidates must therefore be willing to travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States on an ongoing basis.br br Candidates must possess, at minimum, a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electric Power Systems Engineering, or a related field, as well as 48 months of fulltime professional postBaccalaureate work experience as an Automation Engineer, Electrical Engineer or related occupation. Of the 48 months of required work experience, all 48 months must have been spent while undertaking at least three of the five following sets of tasks 1 creating, designing, configuring, validating, installing, commissioning, or operating industrial automation systems, automation applications, and associated protocols; 2 engaging in SCADA system development, design, implementation and operation involving common data types, HMI, and PLC; 3 working with electrical utility or industrial plant electric power and control systems, integration applications, and associated protocols; 4 operating, using, and analyzing data collection devices and communication processors; and 5 applying special protection schemes and remedial action schemes such as fast load shedding, generation control, generation shedding, grid separation, autosynchronization and tieline controls. All of the relevant required experience may have been gained concurrently. All candidates must also possess knowledge, as evidenced by passing a basic technical proficiency test, of at least four of the six following subject matter areas 1 industrial automation system practices, automation applications, and associated protocols; 2 SCADA system theory, design, and operation involving common data types, HMI, and PLC; 3 electric power and control system practices, integration applications, and associated protocols; 4 operation, use, and analysis of data collection devices and communication processors; 5 electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology; and 6 protective relay engineering theory, operation, applications, and testing. Note All candidates for all engineering positions at the company must pass a basic technical proficiency test. Candidates must also be willing to comply with the companys DrugFree and TobaccoFree policies.
