Education Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in Marine Science, Physical Oceanography or a closely related field to Marine Science or Physical Oceanography.br Experience At least six 6 years of relevant experience including observational physical oceanography, conducting research on oceangoing research vessels and in the field; experience with oceanographic instrumentation including Conductivity, Temperature and Depth CTD profilers and Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers ADCP; and experience operating and calibrating High Frequency radars.br Knowledge Knowledge of computer programming. Knowledge of electronic and radio testing procedures and tools. Knowledge of oceanographic instrumentation and data logging techniques. Knowledge of Linux system management, Internet management, and security procedures.br Abilities and Skills Ability to conduct data collection in the field and at sea following designated research protocols. Demonstrated ability to interact well with other personnel in high pressure environments. Must possess a valid drivers license and if use of personal vehicle on the job is required, must also have valid personal drivers insurance equivalent to Hawaiis NoFault Drivers Insurance and maintain throughout the duration of employment.br Physical andor Medical Demands Ability to lift and carry instruments weighting up to sixty 60 pounds. Ability to work on research vessels for extended periods.br Policy andor Regulatory Requirements As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies and procedures and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawaiis andor business entitys policies and procedures.
