Specific Skills

Must have at least a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Conservation, Japanese Art History, or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in the job offered or at least 10 years of experience in Japanese art conservation. In lieu of Bachelors degree, will accept additional 2 years of experience in stated field. Stated experience must include 10 years of experience conserving and independently remounting various formats of Japanese paintings, including screens, hanging scrolls, handscrolls, and albums. Stated experience must also include 5 years of experience conserving designated National Treasures works and Important Cultural Properties in Japan. Must have received training from an art conservation studio in Japan. Must be fluent in Japanese and able to work in English. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
