Cost breakdown analysis for casting components;br 4. Managing supplier contracts the PPAP systematically using Oracle ERP system;br 5. Reviewing casting drawings, models, product specifications, and material specifications utilizing the Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing GDT system;br 6. Working with quality and statistical process tools including APQP, FMEA, SPC and MSA.br br Experience may be obtained concurrently.br br This is a key position with AAM, responsible for implementing global and regional longterm sourcing strategies for aluminum die casting category in driveline, powertrain and eaxle casting components in the automotive industry; researching and analyzing internal and external data comprised of historical spend, budget forecasts and operating plans, economic and market trends, and supplier performance using Oracle ERP system; evaluating global casting supply industry and vehicle segments based on market, logistics, metal, materials and technologies to identify trends, creating and interpreting factbased reports, and supporting the category management team; analyzing manufacturing engineering requirements, applying NADCA Product Specifications Standards for Die Castings, GDT and lead the technical review process to ensure supply base compliance with all AAM requirements, standards, and procedures; handling negotiations for high pressure die casting, sand casting or semipermanent mold, permanent mold, and low pressure with suppliers using cost breakdown, cost model, total landed cost, and process analysis while supporting regional buyers in the negotiation of supply contracts; conducting global advanced program sourcing activities by providing alignment and direction to the crossfunctional team; generating and implementing sustainable value and innovative cost saving initiatives; generating supplier assessments leveraging cross functional inputs using Advanced Quality Product Planning APQP, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis FMEA, Statistical Process Control SPC, Measurement System Analysis MSA and Production Part Approval Process PPAP; and establishing relationships with suppliers, leading to an increased engagement and integration across AAM Business Units. Because this is a key and critical position, requiring extensive knowledge of, as well as experience with, applicable concepts and issues involving purchasing of powertrain casting components, a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration, or foreign equivalent education, and 3 years experience working in the position of Direct Buyer in the automotive industry, is required.
