Specific Skills

We require a Ph.D. in Animal Breeding and Genetics with a thesis focused on beef cattle, plus 5 years of experience in an animal breeding research setting post Ph.D., in support of the red meat industries. We require five years experience with analyses of genomic data in an animal breeding context, including high density SNP data. We also require at least one year of experience in a research setting in a center responsible for the delivery of genetic evaluations on a national scale and analyses of nextgeneration whole genome sequence data. We require evidence of research productivity in the field including at least 5 peer reviewed publications as lead author in beef cattle breeding in the past 10 years with an average 2year impact factor of 2.0 or greater. Very light travel 510 is expected for this position to attend scientific conferences and interact with science collaborators.
