Specific Skills

The position requires an M.D. or foreign degree equivalent plus two 2 years of clinical experience as a medical resident or fellow in internal or family medicine. Must be Boardcertifiedeligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Must be eligible for or possess a valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia. The position requires any amount of experience in the following skills Analyzing and approving any medical or surgical admissions; providing emergency room analysis for triage, admission or discharge; assessing and authorizing transfers of appropriate patients from outside hospitals to tertiary care center; Ensuring safe transfer of medically stable patients from various intensive care units ICUs to the general medical floor; performing and documenting initial history and physical HP, completing and documenting daily visits, and completing discharge summaries at conclusion of hospital stay for assigned patients; identifying change in clinical status that requires transfer to the ICU to escalate care and or for closer supervision; participating in CODEMET also termed quot;rapid response teamquot; in other hospitals, evaluating patients with acute change in condition and participating in CODE BLUE resuscitation events when required; collaborating with nursing teams in multidisciplinary care of inpatients; Consultant for other primary services for medical management; reading EKGs and telemetry strips; and Palliative Care with goals of care and end of life discussion. Travel required.
