Experience must include concrete, steel, masonry and wood frame structures; using computer analysis software, including RISA, ANSYS and COMSOL; performing independent calculations and analyses; writing reports and preparing drawings and specifications; and assisting with client communications.br br Please note Mr. Kulkarni has a Professional Engineer PE license. See Section K.br br H.12 PLEASE NOTE these requirements bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation of Civil Engineer in the context of the engineering and design services industry, and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner. Because this position requires an extremely advancedlevel of engineering expertise, the employer has determined that a Masters Degree is required. Civil and Structural Engineering graduate programs prepare students to plan and develop complex structural engineering design projects, including those relevant to this position. In addition to learning engineering fundamentals, students are required to participate in rigorous research projects and spend hours completing lab work. Through these programs, they learn how to creatively solve problems, design and implement experiments, improve processes. In addition, the advancedlevel coursework allows them to examine and understand the theoretical underpinnings of the field. Because of the level of this position, this type of educational background is necessary. In addition, because the Senior Consulting Engineer Structures position is to perform engineering work associated with design, investigation, and rehabilitation of a variety of structures, the employer has determined that a combination of a university education and handson experience is necessary. Due to the level of responsibility that this position entails, specifically organizing, reviewing, and analyzing documents related to the design and construction with various material types including steel, wood, masonry, and concrete, the employer has determined that at least six years of experience is necessary for the position. The employer would not hire someone for this position who did not meet these minimum requirements. In addition, because this Senior Engineer is required to serve as the Engineer of record and prepare engineering documents, he is required to have a PE license, per State regulations.
