Specific Skills

The Product Engineer will be based out of SELs King of Prussia field office located at 2900 Horizon Drive, Suite 100, King of Prussia, PA 19406. However, because SEL has numerous customers nationwide, some travel is required, as the incumbent will occasionally and on a shortterm basis be deployed to various customer sites. Candidates must therefore be willing to travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States on an ongoing basis.br br Candidates must possess, at minimum, a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electric Power Systems Engineering, or related. All candidates must also possess knowledge, as evidenced by passing a basic technical proficiency test, of all four of the following subject matter areas 1 electric power and industrialutility system protection, control, integration and automation philosophies, practices, applications, and associated protocols; 2 life cycle planning, development, production and market positioning for product lines, including enhancements and obsolescence for specific products; 3 protective relay engineering theory, operation, and application at an electric utility, industrial plant or engineering firm; and 4 theory, design, and operation of networks for symmetrical component calculations. Note All candidates for all engineering positions at SEL must pass a basic technical proficiency test. Candidates must also be willing to comply with SELs DrugFree and TobaccoFree policies.
