Specific Skills

This position requires a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, or a related field and 10 years related experience in the field of chemical engineering. Must also have 5 years of experience which may have been gained concurrently with each of the following 1 utilizing critical process engineering expertise and insights to specialty chemicals process development projects with the goal of both, scaling up of laboratory inventions into commercial scale production, and scaling down of manufacturing plants to laboratory units for troubleshootingoptimization; 2 designing, building and operating a variety of chemical processing equipment including continuous flow reactors, pressure reactors, jacketed glass reactors, crystallizers and other unit operation set ups at various scales 50 milliliters to 10000 liters; 3 operating and troubleshooting continuous processes, analyzing continuous process data, evaluating startupshutdown challenges, assessing safe requirements, including HAZOP; 4 develop and leverage firstprinciples modeling of rate processes kinetics, transport, and separations and simulations Aspen plus, Matlab and other process modeling tools to provide fundamental understanding of chemicalbiological process data; 5 performing data analyticsstatistical modeling and working with statistical software tools including R, JMP to leverage existing chemicalbiological data to drive critical research decisions; and 6 international experience in chemical processing, technology implementation and troubleshooting. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Ph.D. program. Domestic and international travel required up to 20 of the time.
