Requires a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Wind Energy Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. Experience must include working in the onshore wind energy industry; preparing 3D models and 2D documentation of nacelle components; design and validation of key wind turbine components such as base frame, main bearing housing, windshaft, rear structure and canopy; knowledge of applicable industry standards such as Eurocode, ASME, ASTM, ISO, or ANSI; preparing stress and fatigue calculations of wind turbine nacelle structures welded and casted structural elements; preparing FEA calculations; drawing reviews of nacelle elements; analyzing wind turbine data and test results; creating design verification reports; providing engineering consulting; overseeing wind turbine component design and development projects; using design and calculation software; manufacturing support and testing; NX; Creo Parametric; Solidworks; Autodesk Inventor AutoCad; Ansys; GDT; and programming in APDL. Approximately 80 travel required. Employer will accept 1 year of work experience for each year not completed towards the Bachelors degree.
