REQUIREMENTS Must be admitted to the New York State Bar. Must possess a JD or LLM. Foreign degree equivalent of a JD or LLM is also acceptable. Must possess three years of experience as an associate practicing privacydata security at a Top 100 law firm as ranked by www.vault.com. Must have three years of experience supporting senior associates and partners in advising Fortune 500 and other large companies on compliance with domestic and international data privacy laws, including in particular the CCPA and other US privacy laws and the European GDPR; responding to crossjurisdictional cyber and other security incidents, including management of ediscovery, forensic and other internal investigations; acting as product counsel for emerging technologies, services and platforms; performing privacy due diligence on target companies in the context of corporate transactions.br br QUALIFICATIONS OF THE FOREIGN NATIONAL As detailed in Section J, the foreign national possesses the equivalent of a US JD from McGill University 2016. Additionally, the foreign national is admitted to the New York State Bar as of September 2017. Moreover, he possesses in excess of three years of experience as a PrivacyData Security Associate at a Top 50 law firm as ranked by www.vault.com. Specifically, he has been employed as a Junior Associate, Privacy Data Security Group at Morrison Foerster since June 19 2017. During this time, Morrison Foerster was ranked between 22 and 24 on www.vault.com. In this capacity, the foreign national gained experience providing support to senior associates and partners in advising Fortune 500 and other large companies on compliance with domestic and international data privacy laws, including in particular the CCPA and other US privacy laws and the European GDPR; responding to crossjurisdictional cyber and other security incidents, including management of ediscovery, forensic and other internal investigations; acting as product counsel for emerging technologies, services and platforms; performing privacy due diligence on target companies in the context of corporate transactions.br br Please note that the position of Junior Associate, Privacy Cyber Security Group is not substantially comparable to the position of MidLevel Associate, Privacy Data Security Group as the positions require the performance of different job duties in excess of 50 of the time. Please see section K for details.br br Regarding Section H.12, please note that the employers requirements for the position are normal. First, as indicated by DOLs ONET source, the Lawyer occupation requires a JD or LLM and several years of experience. Moreover, as noted in DOLs Occupational Outlook Handbook source, to practice law in any state, a person must be admitted to its bar under the rules established by the jurisdictions highest court.br br Regarding Section I.19, the employer posted a notice of the job opportunity along with a copy of its Employee Referral Program in their New York, NY office in a conspicuous location from June 18, 2020 to July 31, 2020.
