Specific Skills
Professional Engineer PE License is required. Please note that Mr. Cranston has been licensed since 2013.H.10B Must have 4 years experience in development and use of large scale finite element computer models for the analysis, design, and evaluation of a broad variety of structures including conventional buildings and building components, bridges, plate and shell structures, antennas and telescopes, elevated tanks, large diameter buried structures, and buried pipelines using finite element packages, such as NASTRAN, ABAQUS, ANSYS.H.12 PLEASE NOTE these requirements bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation of Civil Engineer in the context of the engineering and design services industry, and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner. Because this position requires an extremely advancedlevel of engineering expertise, the employer has determined that a Masters Degree is required. Civil and Structural Engineering graduate programs prepare students to plan and develop complex structural engineering design projects, including those relevant to this position. In addition to learning engineering fundamentals, students are required to participate in rigorous research projects and spend hours completing lab work. Through these programs, they learn how to creatively solve problems, design and implement experiments, improve processes. In addition, the advancedlevel coursework allows them to examine and understand the theoretical underpinnings of the field. Because of the senior level of this position, this type of educational background is necessary. In addition, because this Senior Staff is responsible for serving in a project management function for the evaluation of a variety of structures, the employer has determined that a combination of a university education and handson experience is necessary. Due to the level of responsibility that this position entails, specifically managing projects from start to finish, including proposal writing, client interaction, budget and schedule control, and team coordination, the employer has determined that at least four years of experience is necessary for the position. The employer would not hire someone for this position who did not meet these minimum requirements.
