Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree plus one year of emergency veterinary medicine and critical care experience gained through the completion of a small animal rotating internship. Experience must include one year of experience with each of the following 1 emergency surgical procedures including gastric dilatationvolvulus GDV, hemoabdomensplenectomy, gastrointestinal foreign body removal, intestinal resection and anastomosis, Csection and lacerations; 2 performing specialized emergency techniques including urethral obstructions, cardiopulmonary resuscitation consistent with recover guidelines, bloodplasma transfusions, acidbase evaluation, tracheostomy, assisted ventilation, thoracocentesis, abdominocentesis, pericardiocentesis, placement of chest tubes and external coaptation; and 3 point of care ultrasounds. Requires State of Wisconsin Veterinarian License.
