Specific Skills

The position requires an M.D. plus completion of three 3 years of experience as a medical resident in pathology and one 1 year of experience as a Fellow in Surgical Pathology or Cytopathology. The position requires any amount of experience in the following skillsbr experience in cytopathology, including the performance of fine needle aspirations FNAs and rapid onsite evaluation of adequacy on imageguided needle aspirations, reporting fluidexfoliative cytology cervical cytology, urine, pleural fluid, peritoneal fluid; experience making cancer diagnoses on limited samples cytology specimens in various organs, such as lung, pancreas, kidney, and liver; experience in breast pathology and diagnostic skills in determination of malignant breast neoplasms; experience rendering accurate and efficient stat intraoperative diagnoses frozen sections that determine surgical strategies; experience in autopsy evaluation and final pathologic reports stating the main cause of death, contributing factors, and pertinent pathologic findings; experience teaching residents and fellows during daily clinical practice and giving structured didactic lectures; and experience publishing reports in the areas of cytopathology and surgical pathology. Must be boardcertifiedeligible in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and cytopathology. Must be eligible for or possess a valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
