Specific Skills

Minimum education required Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or foreign equivalent degree. Minimum experience required 2 years experience in a project engineering, FEA engineering, or validation engineering position or combination with a Tier1 automotive seating supplier. Special skills Must have 2 years work experience in each of the following performing crash hard testing on automotive subsystems and complete seats as required by FMVSS and ECE safety regulations; using HyperWorks to build and process, and LSDYNA to calculate, FEA models of seat components including tracks, recliners, height adjusters, and easyentry mechanisms; evaluating biomechanical criteria for automotive seat validation; using HyperWorks to build and process, and LSDYNA to calculate, FEA models of complete seats for static and dynamic simulations of regulated safety load cases frontal and rear impact, whiplash, luggage retention, seat anchorage strength, and child seating restraints; simulating seat welding failures; conducting NVH, durability, fatigue, mechanical static dynamic, and manufacturing process functional tests for automotive seats; implementing design validation processes and drafting DVPR documentation for automotive seats; training engineers on FEA methodologies for seating systems. Experience may be acquired concurrently.
