Fluency in reading, writing and speaking the Korean language.br br The American Wheat Mission in California, Inc. dba Milal Mission Milal Mission was incorporated in 1997 as a religious nonprofit organization. Milal Mission was established in Stanton CA to serve the Korean community in the city and in the surrounding communities in Orange and Los Angeles Counties. In 2017, the Milal Mission moved from its previous location in Stanton, California to its current location n Santa Fe Springs, California. It is located 14 miles from the city of Fullerton, which is the second largest Korean community in Southern California. Even though the Milal Mission is located in the southern part of Los Angeles county, bordering Orange County, many members of the Korean communities living in the city of Los Angeles, its surrounding cities, and cities in south Orange County, drive to Santa Fe Springs to take advantage of the programs and services that it offers. The Mission is dedicated to serving individuals with special needs and disabilities and their families through the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Milal Mission is place for members within the community to not only seek help but also to seek counsel, understanding, support and encouragement. Milal Mission provides mentorship and guidance to handicapped persons, sponsors programs in braille and sign language, provides classes to individuals with developmental disabilities to help them become members of their communities by developing their intellectual and social abilities in a Christian atmosphere, makes friendly visits to handicapped persons in homes and hospitals, and puts on an annual event called quot;Milal Nightquot; to showcase the talents of these individuals and host inspirational speakers who have learned to embrace the challenges of living with disabilities. In doing this job, the Bilingual Office Clerk Korean will be working closely with staff members as well as the Missions participants, both of whom primarily speak, read and write in the Korean language. The Bilingual Office Clerk will be assigned tasks, both verbally and in writing, in the Korean language. The Bilingual Office Clerk will assist staff creating the program schedules. Once schedules have been set, the Bilingual Office Clerk will write the schedules in Korean, make them available in paper format as well as emailing them to participants and their families. The Bilingual Ofice Clerk will assit with participant enrollment. Intake forms are written in Korean and participants will fill in the form in Korean. The Bilingual Office Clerk will review the intake forms to make sure theyre filled out properly. The Bilingual Office Clerk will answer phone calls, in Korean, from participants who have questions about the date and availability of programs and pricing. The Bilingual Office Clerk will make phone calls and write emails, in Korean, to participants notifying them of changes or sending reminders and will make announcements ove the PA system, in Korean, when needed. Communication occurs via memos, emails, over the phone and directly in persons. 65 of these communications occur in Korean language. The Bilingual Office Clerk will use the Korean language 35 of the time on the job. I certify that the requirements in the position offered, which includes flunency in reading, writing and speaking the Korean language, are legitimate requirements. None of these requirements is uncessary or irrelevant or based on mere employer preference, but is essential to performance of the normal job duties of a Bilingual Office Clerk Korean at Milal Mission.
