The applied research portfolio of the School of Engineering Tech spans the gamut of MET, MFET, ECET, IET with focus in materials, aluminum magnesium casting, robotics the internet of things, manufacturing systems, sustainable silicon polymer circuitry, 3d printing, nanotech, sensors, healthcare tech. The research focus of the successful candidate is open, but should complement these strengths through a focus on mechanical design analysis, possibly from a computational perspective. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, design the application of design to smart product development, mechanical analyses, designer materials, codesign, design analysis as it impacts additive manufacturing, especially in conjunction with existing initiatives around robotics the internet of things RIoT. Employer considers current or past research in the area of robotics, mechanism machine theory satisfies this interest, which may be demonstrated by publication of scholarly papers in journals or conference proceedings, or of scholarly books or chapters in the field. Employer highly desires expertise in computing computerbased methods in relation to design analysis; relevant, recent industrial experience prior teaching experience; employer accepts demonstration of 1 past current research involving such expertise, which may be documented by pubn of scholarly papers in journals or conference proceedings; 2 one quarter 10 weeks experience in i any research role involving computing computerbased methods in relation to design analysis; i any role involving applied research andor development within a manufacturing industrial engineering project, iii any role involving teaching, instruction or mentoring of students within an institution of higher education or a similar environment; acceptable job titles include, but are not limited to teaching assistant, faculty titles, lecturerinstructor titles, or similar titles.
