The position requires 3 years of experience in each of the followingbr br Purchasing electricalmechanicalindirect commodities;br Strategic sourcing across multiple regions to negotiate global contracts;br Working with Global Suppliers establishing worldwide contracts for indirect commodities;br Managing the contract systemically on OraclePlex systems;br Integrating strategical global contracts at the plant manufacturing level by working directly with manufacturing procurement teams.br br Experience may be obtained concurrently.br br This is a key position with AAM, responsible for handling purchasing activities, including supplier selection, negotiations, issuing purchase orders for electrical and mechanical indirect commodities for assembly, machining, and forging processes; reviewing deficient or unacceptable supplier performance with engineers, users, suppliers and others to determine source of trouble and support corrective action; working with global suppliers and markets for competitiveness and global presencecapabilities; conducting technical reviews with suppliers and plants to review scope compliance, systems compliance, and cost detail analysis experience on each of the following; Oracle and Plex; Providing proposal evaluation ensuring that suppliers can deliver complete and costeffective manufacturing solutions; ensuring that 4Squares are developed and tracked according to program timing; support long term supply strategies by commodity supplier; traveling internationally to supplier facilities and plant manufacturing locations as required; and analyzing and communicating conclusions of supplier performance through metrics, data and reports. Because this is a key and critical position, requiring extensive knowledge of, as well as experience with, applicable concepts and issues involving purchasing of electrical, mechanical, and indirect commodities, a Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or Engineering, or foreign equivalent education, and 3 years of experience working as a Buyer in the automotive industry, is required.
