Specific Skills

The three 3 years of experience required in Section H must be related experience. Experience must include two 2 years of experience, which may be concurrent, with all of the following 1 Build mathematical optimization models using following mathematical programing techniques Linear programming, Mixed Integer Programming, Nonlinear programming, and custom heuristics using Xpress, Gurobi or CPLEX; 2 Demonstrated model improvement, tuning, and heuristics algorithm implementation to improve model results and solve efficiency. Experience building and using relational databases to capture and analyze model results; 3 Software development skills with 2 or more of the following languages Java, Python, R, or CC; 4 Experience working with technical and nontechnical stakeholders with experience communicating the benefits of applying mathematical optimization to real business problems; 5 Experience building statistical and predictive models using Python or R to improve inputs to optimization models and insights from large data sets. All experience may be gained concurrently and may have been gained before, during or after completion of the Masters degree program. Domestic and international travel required up to 25 of the time.
