Specific Skills

Two years of postsecondary education in music or a related subject is required. In addition, some experience repairing flutes valued at 10,000 or more is required, along with some experience repairing both pinned and pinless flute mechanisms. Certification of Accomplishment as a Straubinger Certified Pad Technician for installation on flutes is required, as is competency as a flutist for testing instruments. There is no specific minimum employment experience time required, but experience with specific repair skills is needed. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
