Requires Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Aided Design or related field plus 3 years experience in job offered or 3 years experience in related occupation utilizing proprietary mechanical engineering design knowledge of managed pressure drilling equipment to consult on design of active control device rubber seals and related components; conducting finite element modeling and analysis to select elastomeric and polymeric materials that will best support companys product applications, based on unique environment and stresses faced by its drilling equipment; engaging in finite element analysis to verify strength and safe operating life of companys final components, using advanced hyperelastic FEA simulations; creating detailed reports of finite element modeling and analysis, design calculations and API test results to ensure compliance with industry safety organizations such as DNV and ABS to ensure marketability; design and development of active control device for Managed Pressure Drilling, Riser Gas Handling system, Annular Blowout preventer and Continuous circulation system for Subsea Well control; Finite Element Analysis of ElastomericStructural components for Active Control device Sealing elements, Annular Blowout preventer rubber elements, RCD Sealing elements, MPD Riser joints, Riser Flanges, Subsea structures, Drilling Risers, Drilling Subs, Downhole Running Tools using Hypermesh, ABAQUS and ANSYS; Fatigue and Fracture evaluation of ElastomericPolymeric materials using FE SafeFE Safe Rubber; and various elastomeric materials including Natural Rubber, NBR, HNBR, PU, EPDM, UHMWPE,PEEK,HDPE,LDPE and PTFE for subsea applications; ASTM testing of these materials for material selection, material model generation and curve fitting for FEA; and generating automation Programs using CC, FORTRAN, Python and PLC Programs for User Subroutines developments, Simulation result programs and Automation programs for well control. Also requires 2 years experience in Managed Pressure DrillingUnder Balanced Drilling, Riser Pressure control and Well control during drilling. In lieu of Masters degree, employer will accept Bachelors degree in above listed fields plus 5 years of progressive work experience in related occupation. Experience may be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
