PhD in Computer Science, Computational Science, Applied Computing, Data Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field required.br At least 6 months of teaching experience as a primary instructor in a postsecondary education setting teaching computer science or mathematics related courses. Experience as an assistant professor specifically is not required, so we answered quot;noquot; to H.6. Note for the examiner We expressed the requirement as 6 months because the form requires a monthcount of experience. Our experience requirement is teaching computer science or math related courses for at least 18 credits, which at most schools would normally have resulted from teaching 6 courses, which would be about an aggregate of 68 months of teaching taking into account parttime or fulltime teaching loads and varying semester lengths at different schools, so we chose the minimum aggregate experience of 6 months.br Some experience teaching multiple courses or multiple sections of a course at the same time in a postsecondary education setting.br If Ph.D. program was primarily related to computer science, some work experience, formal education or scholarly work in data science is also required.br Documented project experience with SQL, PHP, CC, Python and Python packages including a minimum of numpy, scipy, matplotlib, pandas, sklearn.br Documented project experience with statistical learning techniques including data preprocessing, crossvalidation, regression, regularization, dimension reduction, PCA, SVD, feature selection, and Bayesian optimization.br Completed application with the followingbr A letter of application addressing The undergraduate Computer Science courses you are prepared to teach The undergraduate Data Science courses you are prepared to teach andbr A curriculum vitae,br The names and contact information for three professional references including at least one who can address successful teaching experience.br A teaching statement that explains teaching philosophy and how that translates into a classroom experience that supports the learning of all students.
