The Project Engineer Protection will be based out of the companys Irvine field office located at 420 Exchange Suite 100, Irvine, California 92602. However, because the company has numerous customers nationwide, some travel is required, as the incumbent will occasionally and on a shortterm basis be deployed to various customer sites. Candidates must therefore be willing to travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States on an ongoing basis.br br Candidates must possess, at minimum, a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field, as well as 60 months of fulltime professional postbaccalaureate work experience as a Protection Engineer, Electrical Engineer or related occupation. Of the 60 months of required work experience, all 60 months must have been spent undertaking at least two of the three following sets of tasks 1 creating, designing, configuring, validating, installing, commissioning, or operating protection systems, protection applications, and associated protocols; 2 operating, applying, or testing protective relays; and 3 performing power engineering fault conditions and calculations. All of the relevant required experience may have been gained concurrently. All candidates must also possess knowledge, as evidenced by passing a basic technical proficiency test, of all three of the following subject matter areas 1 electric power system protection practices, protection applications, and associated protocols; 2 protective relay engineering theory, operation, applications, and testing; and 3 power engineering fault conditions and calculations. Note All candidates for all engineering positions at the company must pass a basic technical proficiency test. Candidates must also be willing to comply with the companys DrugFree and TobaccoFree policies.
