Fluency in the Japanese language is required. The majority of the companys vendors approximately 80 and clients approximately 50 consist of Japanese companies with headquarters in Japan and U.S. branch offices operating in various industries, who require our assistance in importing, distributing and delivering fine Japanese chef knives, tableware and restaurant supplies. In order for our Senior Logistics Specialist to utilize stock reports prepared by subordinate Junior Logistics Specialists and receive and arrange packaging and delivery of knife and silverware products from suppliers in Japan to the U.S., she must be able to understand Japanese as the information from our clients are in both Japanese and English. Our Senior Logistics Specialist also needs to communicate with our clients in Japanese in order to lead price negotiations and discuss logistics, freight consolidations and special shipping requirements with shippers and vendors in Japanese and English in order to ensure optimal logistics performance as most of our clients managers are expats who speak only Japanese. Accordingly, the Senior Logistics Specialist must be able to execute tasks in Japanese with our clients managers who converse in Japanese, in order to oversee sourcing requests, status updates and sample requests from Japanese clients in Japanese to maintain positive business relations. Also, our Senior Logistics Specialist needs to supervise and communicate with our Junior Logistics Specialist to prepare stock reports, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, and providing guidance in Japanese. In other words, a Senior Logistics Specialist who cannot communicate, read and write in fluent Japanese will not be able to effectively perform the duties describe in item #H11 above.
