H.10B Must have BS in optical sciences, optical engineering, or related field and 6 years of experience as an optical engineering, including the following handson experience in optomechanical design; advanced optical design and mechanical design rules; laser beam propagation and fiber optics; mechanical design software, including SolidWorks; optical design software, including Zemax; laserbased systems, specifically laser scanning; working with optical and mechanical engineering teams; and design integration with industrial design, user experience, and ergonomics.br H.12 PLEASE NOTE that the requirements bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation of Photonics Engineer, in the context of the medical device industry and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner. This is a Senior Optomechanical Engineer position, and we would not hire anyone who did not possess these credentials. This employee must have the indepth, complex, and theoretical understanding of optical science and optical engineering, gained through a university degree, in order to generate requirements, perform optomechanical design, and conduct design review, feasibility studies, and other tasks required of this position. As this employee is responsible for playing a lead role in the design and fabrication of key optomechanical subassembles in the company product, his technical skills must be excellent. Because of the nature of this position, the advanced responsibilities it entails, the highly specialized duties specific to the tightly regulated medical industry, and the serious consequences of any design, prototyping, testing, and documentation of our products, we have determined that a combination of a university education and extensive handson experience is necessary. We have determined that a Bachelors degree and 6 years of experience are the minimum qualifications necessary to perform this position.
