H.10B Must have 4 years of experience performing optical microscopy studies in in vivo preparations; setting up optical instrumentation and analyzing data collected with optical microscopes; successfully shepherding research from concept to execution; and assisting others with research projects within a lab.br br H.12 PLEASE NOTE that the requirements bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation of Biomedical Engineers, in the context of a large public university and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner. The University would not hire someone for this position who did not meet these minimum requirements. This employee must have the indepth, complex, and theoretical understanding gained through an advanced degree in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering degree. These degree programs provide advanced coursework, as well as rigorous laboratory work in which the students must design and execute relevant research projects. As this Research Fellow will be responsible for performing original research, assisting professors with their research, and contributing to publications in journals and conferences, this background is essential. In addition, this Research Fellow will be performing highly specialized research in the Universitys Neurophotonics Center, including working with cuttingedge technology and planning experimental optical studies. In order to perform and support this research, the Research Fellow must have handson experience with this technology and instrumentation. Because of the level of responsibility that this position entails, as well as the serious consequences of errors, Boston University has determined that a Masters degree and 4 years of experience is necessary.
