Bachelors degree in Control Systems, Chemical, Mechanical, Maritime or Electrical Engineering plus 5 years of Engineering experience or in a related position. 3 years experience in a technical instrument engineer role in an operating refinery or chemical plant. 2 years field experience related to verifying field instrumentation and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams PIDs. Must have experience developing safety requirement specifications SRS and configuring SIS logic solvers particularly Triconex and Trident equipment. Must have demonstrated software programming skills i.e. visual basic, and structured text to develop Excel macros and software testing scripts. Demonstrated technical writing capability to produce detailed software and hardware factory acceptance test and site acceptance test procedures. Demonstrated proficiency to work in the field to inspect control system installation including wiring, networking, instrument and equipment installation, and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot control system installations i.e. wiring, networking, instrument installations. Demonstrated proficiency in developing SIS engineering deliverables, SRS, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Logic Narratives, online and offline Test Procedures. Demonstrated ability to work in Smart Plant Instrumentation SPI to develop instrument index, datasheets, and review loop diagrams. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems SIS and the application of ISA84. Will also accept a Masters Degree plus 3 years of experience as described above in lieu of a Bachelors Degree plus 5 years of experience.
