Candidates must hold a PhD in German Literature Culture or a closely related field of study, native or nearnative German fluency, promise or evidence of outstanding scholarly achievement, and excellent teaching skills. Preferred areas of specialization include contemporary Germanspeaking culture and literary film studies, with interdisciplinary emphasis in gender studies, multiculturalism and migration, and science, medicine, and technology studies. The successful candidate should have an interest in contentbased, applied language approaches and the ability to teach and develop a wide variety of courses in support of an innovative German Studies curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
