Experience must include eighteen months of advising on individual income tax issues pertaining to expatriates and foreign nationals, tax compliance in jurisdictions outside of the US, and the tax equalization process, and applying taxation concepts to social security implications associated with international assignments; assessing clients stock option plans and the impact on U.S. payroll reporting; determining foreign countries tax reporting requirements in relation to U.S. tax law reporting events and applying revenue code sections and income tax treaties to host country tax laws for the expatriate and the inpatriate population; preparing assignment cost analysis, advising on home and host country tax implications, coordinating with relocation vendors and local payroll, and conducting predeparture orientation and repatriation meetings with clients from a US tax perspective; utilizing tax research tools, including BNA, CCH to provide tax compliance and consulting services to global business travelers; utilizing tax software, including CCH Axcess and Global FX to compute taxes, conduct research and integrate with internal tracking tools; and resolving tax notices and assessments with the DOL and IRS through verbal and written correspondence.
