Bachelors degree in Physics, Physical Science, or the foreign academic equivalent; 5 years of progressive experience as a Medical Dosimetrist or in a Medical Physics role; 5 years experience in the following creating radiation therapy treatment plans using computer software and various imaging modalities inverse treatment planning, direct treatment planning, hand calculations, electron field calculations and measurements; interpreting and delineating anatomy and anatomical positioning on various imaging modalities; CT simulation of patients using vaclok, and conventional immobilization devices; Performing quality assurance checks on patient charts; Patient setup, marking, and simulation; Performing multimodality image fusion; General computerized tasks, such as word processing, using spreadsheets, moving and altering files and directories, and performing data backup; Knowledge of radiobiology with respect to dose tolerances, hypofractionation, BED calculations and other applications of radiobiology to the radiation therapy treatment process; Understanding of radiation protection and application of the principles of As Low As Reasonably Achievable ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, staff and others; All experience may be gained concurrently.
