Masters degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, and three 3 years of experience as a Hardware Engineer. In lieu of a Masters degree and three years of experience, the employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, and five 5 years of progressive postbaccalaureate experience as a Hardware Engineer. Applicants must have the following at least three 3 years of experience with microprocessor or microcontrollerbased embedded system design, digital circuit design, analog circuit design, offline switching power supply design and test, and EMC electromagnetic compatibility design and test; experience with typical embedded control peripherals RAM, Flash, SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, AID, DA, EthernetMII, and CAN; experience with packaging designs for electrical and electronic devices, including design for mechanical robustness, EMC, and thermal considerations; experience with mixedsignal printed circuit board development analog and digital, low and high voltage, low and highfrequency circuits including switching power conversion circuits, component placement, routinglayout, and postlayout analysis; experience with Functional Safety design in product development; experience with writing system, module, and boardlevel requirements and test specifications, and with executing and documenting system, module, and boardlevel tests; experience with design and test equipment, including AC and DC bench power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers and digital signal analyzers; experience with handson printed circuit board modification using solderingdesoldering tools; experience in analyzing malfunctioning electrical and electromechanical circuits and systems, assessing root cause failures down to the component level, and implementing costeffective solutions; experience in all aspects of the product development process, including generating, gathering and analyzing requirements, determining hardware design and implementation strategies and architectures, creating workbreakdown structures and resource assessments, creating design specifications, developing prototype hardware circuit design and simulation, component selection and derating, material analysis, and board layout, and creating and executing test plans for electronic hardware; experience with preparing for and leading formal design and test reviews, documenting major decisions and actions, following up as needed to close open issues, and archiving results; experience with certification agency requirements UL, IEC, and CSA related to the design and testing of motor protection, control, and communication products; experience with PSpiceTITINALTSpice and MATLABSimulink for simulation and analysis of mixed signal circuits; experience with Mentor Graphics schematic capture, board design, and postlayout analysis tools including xDx Designer, Expedition, and Hyperlynx; experience using SAP for product data management and enterprise resource planning; and experience in the application of Design for Six Sigma DFSS principles and methods to concept selection, failure modes and effects analysis, and design for robustness.
