Specific Skills

The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is an earned doctorate in civil engineering or a related field. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the doctorate must be complete prior to the beginning of the academic year by August 2018 for an August 2018 starting date. Specific expertise is required in the field of geotechnicalpavement engineering. Expertiseinterest and ability to teach a variety of courses in the department is also required. The following are preferred qualifications Candidates have ability and interest in pursuing externally funded research andor professional activity demonstrated through previous accomplishments andor publications; Candidates have demonstrated their ability as an effective teacher; Candidates have a bachelor of science in civil engineering from an ABETaccredited program, professional registration in Civil Engineering any state or the ability to obtain professional registration within a few years.
