Experience must include any experience in each of the following FAA regulations, BoeingAirbus specifications, SAE documents related to aircraft seating system; transport airplane seating system certification process with an emphasis in structural testing of seats and seat components along with flammability and smoke and heat release requirements; injury criteria testing such as HIC, lumbar and neck injury criteria; certification of oblique seats; assisting TC holder with issue paper process; work with PSP staff, designated engineering representative DERS, airworthiness representative ARS and FAA on seats certification; represent company in meeting with regulatory authority on seat certification and compliance related matters; failure analysis to find the root cause of the failure; inservice failure related issues and formal reporting mechanisms; and AC 2149 qualification for TSO seats; and communicating with internal departments, customers, and regulatory agencies. Experience may be gained concurrently.br br br Business Necessity cont. from H.11 The Manager Airworthiness Compliance position requires 6 years of experience in seat certification because the position requires the candidate to ensure all seats designed and manufactured meet the FAA seat certification requirements and Aircraft requirements. A detailed understanding of the seat certification process is necessary since the position is responsible for all certification data in the company. Due to the amount of testing and regulation involved in the seat certification process, a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required to develop a thorough understanding of the seat certification process. This experience must include experience with assisting TC holder with Issue paper Process; experience working with PSP Staff, DERS, ARS and FAA on seats certification; experience representing company in meeting with regulatory authority on seat certification and compliance related matters; experience with failure analysis to find the root cause of the failure; experience with inservice failure related issues and formal reporting mechanisms; and experience with AC 2149 qualification for TSO Seats because the position requires the candidate to develop new means of compliance for unique nouvel seat designs and generate alternate means of compliance. Issue paper process involves developing means of compliance to new seat designs that are not established in the FAA guidance and hence this experience is required for the position. This position requires the candidate to act as an authorized test witness for seat dynamic testing, similar to a PSP staff, DERS and ARS. Hence experience working with them to understand the evaluation criteria for test results, root cause for test failures is required. The position requires the candidate to be responsible for all the compliance related matters for the company and responsible for communicating any compliance issues or safety issues to the FAA. Prior experience with formal reporting mechanism is required to perform this duty. All electronic components installed on the seats needs to be qualified for the AC2149 attributes under the seat TSO. Prior experience with AC2149 qualification is required to ensure the seats with electronic components installed on them comply with the TSO procedures.
