Specific Skills

H.10B Must have two years of experience in the structural design of concrete, steel, masonry and wood frame structures and using computer analysis software, such as ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM SAFE.br br H.12 PLEASE NOTE these requirements bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation of Civil Engineer in the context of the engineering and design services industry, and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner. Because this position requires an extremely advancedlevel of engineering expertise, the employer has determined that a Masters Degree is required. Civil and Structural Engineering graduate programs prepare students to plan and develop complex structural engineering design projects, including those relevant to this position. In addition to learning engineering fundamentals, students are required to participate in rigorous research projects and spend hours completing lab work. Through these programs, they learn how to creatively solve problems, design and implement experiments, improve processes. In addition, the advancedlevel coursework allows them to examine and understand the theoretical underpinnings of the field. Because of the level of this position, this type of educational background is necessary. In addition, because the Staff II position is responsible for assisting in the investigation and remediation of existing building structures, components, and systems, with particular emphasis on insitu load testing and evaluation of existing concrete structures, the employer has determined that a combination of a university education and handson experience is necessary. Due to the level of responsibility that this position entails, specifically assisting with performing surveys, testing, evaluation, and component sampling of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structural elements and systems in the field, the employer has determined that at least two years of experience is necessary for the position. The employer would not hire someone for this position who did not meet these minimum requirements.br br Section J Please note that Mr. Wang is currently living in Arlington, VA. This is approximately 3.5 miles from the SGH office in Washington, DC where he will be working. All of his duties will be performed at the office in Washington, DC; he will not perform any of his duties as Staff II Structures from home or from a thirdparty location.
