Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related plus 2 years of ITS and traffic engineering related experience. Engineering in Training EIT certification is required. Required experience includes traffic safety analysis, traffic operations analysis, traffic incident management, and traffic simulation analysis; managing arterial signal operations at a traffic management center TMC; geographic information system GIS and satellite imagery to analyze roadway and traffic characteristics inventory data and create mapbased decision support tools; client contact, documentation and communication of resultsrecommendations; handson experience with various traffic controllers including EPIC, EPAC and Model 2070; prior experience of analyzing traffic safety and mobility databases maintained by State and other traffic agencies; application of national standards including Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual HCM, Highway Safety Manual HSM, and Trip Generation Manual; AutoCAD, ArcGIS; Highway Capacity Software HCS; SynchroSimTraffic; ATMS software specifically Centracs and TACTICS, local signal controller software such as SEPAC; Video Management Software such as Cameleon ITS Client, Ocularis; Experience with Regional Transportation Information System RITIS. Job duties may involve travel up to 10 of the time.
