Minimum Requirements Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field of study, plus 8 years of product design experience. As an alternative, the company will accept a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field, plus 10 years of product design experience. The Senior Product Designer VAVE must have skills to design consumer products utilizing a command of industry best practices for part and assembly design, including appropriate materials and fabrication modes for injection molding, sheet metal forming and electronic integration. Command of best practices also extends to design for a wide range of quantities, from oneoff prototypes to mass production at offshore factories in the hundreds of thousands, including industry standard testing certification protocols for a variety of consumer products. He or she must have direct experience working with fabrication and manufacturing vendors ranging in size from small local shops to global tier 1 factories. Expertise in mechanical CAD tools is required preferably in Solidworks, ProEngineerCreo, NX. Specific skills required include Experience in Functional Analysis, Value Analysis, Value Engineering VAVE, PRD definition, User experience roadmapStoryboarding; FMEA; Simulation Static Dynamic; GDT, CTF, FAI, Cpk Metrology OMM, CMM, etc.; Sealing, IP rating constraints; Validation Plan definition. Familiar with Certifications processes CE, RoHS, TuV, etc.. Experience developing and performing reliability tests including mechanical, shock, vibration, environmental. Advance knowledge in Materials selection metals, plastics, woods, soft goods, packagings. Experience in Injection Molding, sheet metal forming, extrusion, CNC, MIM, Die Casting, Forging, Anodization, Coating, Forming Rapid prototyping materials and techniques; Assembly techniques, assembly lines, fixtures, SOP, Inspection, QA, etc., NPI launches, product ramp, sustaining support and RFQs, vendors management locally overseas,CMs.
