Applicants should be near completion of actuarial credentials or should possess actuarial credentials from any of the professional societies passage of ASA or CERA or FSA examinations such as ASAs Exam P, Exam FM, Exam C constitutes near completion and have research agendas that focus on areas that will contribute to maintaining our status as a Center of Actuarial Excellence.br br Junsen Tang has a Ph.D. in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo, which has been certified as equivalent to a Ph.D. in Actuarial Science from a regionally accredited university in the U.S. Dr. Tang defended his dissertation and completed his Ph.D. in December 2018. His diploma was conferred in June 2019. He therefore met the educational requirements for the position. The Search Committee at the University of St. Thomas found Junsen Tang to be the most qualified candidate for the position for reasons including He had an active research program in actuarial science, including a published paper and five additional papers in preparation in areas recognized by the Society of Actuaries as counting towards our status as a Center of Actuarial Excellence; He had teaching experience in Actuarial Science; He had completed the exams needed for actuarial credentialing, requiring only the modules to complete the credentialing process. No other candidate for this position possessed his combination of relevant education, research, teaching experience and other credentials.
