Requires a bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in electrical engineering or related field and 10 years of experience in the position offered or 10 years of experience designing the electromagnetics of 500hp Induction motors and generators, including caged rotor and wound rotor machines. Also requires 10 years of experience designing the electromagnetics of 500hp Synchronous motors and generators including wound field, permanent magnet, and synchronous reluctance machines; designing single and multispeed stator windings for 500hp AC motors; applying AC motor winding design methods for form wound insulation systems up to 13.8kV; designing 500hp Large Motor and Generator design based on National Electrical Manufacture Association NEMA and International Electrotechnical Commission IEC; conducting and interpreting results from motor testing per IEEE 112 and IEC 600342 standards; performing electromagnetic Finite Element Analyses and transforming results from FEA models into lumpedsum approximation algorithms for nonFEA analysis; applying low voltage and medium voltage twolevel and multilevel DC link adjustable speed drives to AC motors and modeling the application of motors operated on ASD; designing schemes that mitigate motor bearing failures from capacitive coupled and common mode currents; creating, upgrading, or expanding computer coding for proprietary electromagnetic modeling tools in the following languages Fortran, Delphi, Visual Basic, C, C, C#, and Go; completing numerical analyses using Matlab, Simulink, and Maxwell 3D; and applying Electromechanical interaction design philosophy for cooling, vibration, lateral and torsional shaft resonance damping.
