Specific Skills

Masters degree in Entomology, Public Health, Biology or related field and one year of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation in environmental health, abatement, or vector control services. Experience must include 1 Must be a certified mosquito identification specialist; or have at least 1 year of active experience in working in a mosquito identification laboratory or SPCS pest category. 2 TDA Ag Public Health Licensing. 3 One year of experience with time sensitive lab operation. 4 Certification or experience in CDC Bottle Bioassay mosquito resistance testing. 5 Experience in vector control field activities including surveillance and control and using company trucks. 6 Maintain active status with industry specific professional groups. 7 Knowledge or experience with PCR testing process, how to follow the protocol for preparation, and interpret results. 8 Experience with scientific conferences and demonstrated ability to publicly present findings and research results. 9 Strong experience in research and knowledge of multiple data analysis software including Microsoft Excel and Access. 10 Experience with development and evaluation of innovative vector control and zoonotic disease control strategies.
