The Masters degree and experience must include coursework, researchproject, and experience with an emphasis onbr a Performing and evaluating seepage and slope stability analysis and their application to the geotechnical engineering problems; soil improvement; foundations; earth pressures, field exploration techniques; engineering geology; and advanced soil behavior.br b Performing laboratory testing and interpreting data associated with index tests, atterberg limit tests, consolidation tests incremental stress consolidation, shear strength tests Isotropic and Anisotropic Consolidated Undrained testing, Direct Shear and Fully Softened Direct Shear Testing, Unconsolidated Undrained Triaxial Testing, Vane Shear Testing, and residual shear strength tests using Ring Shear Apparatus.br c Planning field exploration program and collecting soft insitu clayey samples and performing laboratory index tests and shear strength tests on insitu material; as well as utilizing byproduct from power plants i.e., fly ash and from industrial steel plant byproduct i.e. granulated slag to stabilize collected clayey soils; and evaluate strength improvement.br d Performing a cost benefit analysis for construction of flexible pavement on natural clayey subgrade soils compared to construction of flexible pavement using industrial byproduct stabilized clayey soils.br e Preparing a research report on geotechnical design of highrise buildings and how it depends on the geologic history, soil and rock stratification, and engineering parameters Atterberg limits, shear strength test results, compression and recompression indices, Rock Quality Designation.br f Computing axial capacity of pile foundations and drilled shafts using Standard Penetration Test and Cone Penetration Test data.br g Evaluating consolidation settlement using finite difference numerical methods and estimate time rate of consolidation, including methods to enhance consolidation in field.br h Preparing progress reports.br Experience can be pre or post degree.br PROOF OF PASSAGE OF PE CIVIL GEOTECHNICAL EXAM. Must have proof of passing the PE Civil Geotechnical exam.br EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT MET.
