This position requires a bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or in a related field, and 5 years of professional experience as an automotive or aerospace seat designer in an O.E. Environment, or related field. Additionally, a qualified applicants experience must include the following skillsbr br 1. Experience with technical aspects of automotive or aerospace complete seat design and development including Seat Base Slider Adjustment mechanisms, Seat Back Recliner Adjustment mechanisms; Seat Frame structures, metal, plastic, and foam Seat internal structures.br 2. Experience using a 3D CAD modeling software in order to analyze complex assembly level interactions of multiple movingadjustable parts of the complete seat and packaging interfaces with surrounding vehicle systems, to develop and refine new or existing complete seat designs.br 3. Experience performing andor analyzing subjective and objective ergonomic comfort evaluations of complete seat design at the vehicle assemble level, by utilizing pressure mapping measurement equipment and human anthropometry data.br 4. Experience with application of Finite Element Analysis FEA in design, experience with manufacturing processes metal formingstamping, tube bending, welding and weld fixturing, riveting, plastic and foam injection molding; assembly processes and fixtures including production launch support; and material properties selection in order to achieve optimized vehicle weight reduction and cost reduction.br 5. Experience utilizing Geometrical Dimensioning Tolerancing GDT, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis FMEA, and dimensional tolerance stackup calculation in order to identify critical interfaces of mating andor surrounding vehicle parts to ensure interchangeability with production tolerances.br 6. Experience with reviewinganalyzing complete Seat design for national andor international safety and regulatory compliance testing requirements, methods of testing, ability to analyze test results and make any necessary design changes for a specific vehicle application to meet regulations related to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards FMVSS, Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards CMVSS, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA.br br Special Skill requirement mandatory drug testing and background checks.
