Preparing and posting journal entries, preparing monthly reconciliations and performing research on identified issues to complete the financial close and consolidation process. 5. Comparing draft reports of general ledger schedules and consolidated financial statements and assisting in the preparation of the formal tieout of all numbers. 6. Assisting with the monthly review of departmental expenses, including researching variances to prior year and budget. 7. Recording asset acquisitions, depreciation expense and disposals of fixed assets. 8. Performing monthly reconciliation of fixed asset subledger balances and activity to the general ledger details, including comparing balance sheet accounts by fixed asset type. 9. Comparing depreciation expense and recorded gains and losses. 10. Performing annual impairment analysis of fixed assets and preparing accounting technical memos documenting the performed procedures. 11. Assisting management with the preparation of the monthly management reporting package and quarterly and annual financial reports. 12. Identifying accounting process improvements, proposing changes to management, and developing and implementing changes. 13. Supporting SOX 404 audit procedures related to transactional accounting activities. 14. Assisting with international tax compliance, including UK, EU or Asian region.
