Specific Skills

Master degree in an ABET accredited electrical engineering program and 3 years of experience as an engineer must include Station protective settings, including circuit breaker control, distribution transformers, and capacitor banks. PC project construction and commissioning support for projects ranging up to 4.16kV or 115kV. Developing PC OneLine Diagrams, schematics, wiring and logic diagrams utilizing MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar software. Applying ANSI and IEEE standards pertaining to electrical power systems. At least 10 months of Line settings for implementation on microprocessor relays, electromechanical relays and solidstate relays for systems up to 345kV, settings work to include communication aided schemes, step distance, overcurrent, mutually coupled lines and misoperations and event analysis experience; PC project scope development for projects ranging from 4.16kV to 345kV; and Applying NERC Reliability Standards for system protection. Alternatively, bachelor degree in an ABET accredited electrical engineering program and 5 years of progressive experience as specified above is acceptable. ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. NonABET accredited bachelors degree in electrical engineering must be accompanied by a Professional Engineers PE license from any U.S. state. NonABET accredited masters degree or Ph.D. in electrical engineering must be from a university with an ABET accredited bachelor degree program in electrical engineering.
